Judges report My
thanks to the club for asking me to judge the Millenium Ch. Show and
everyone worked so hard to make it such a successful and happy day. I
was extremely happy with my main winners and was pleased to see some
nice ones coming through. On the downside, I noticed quite a few
exhibits who were slack or weak in pastern accompanied by open toes and
flat feet. Some were not as short coupled and firm in loin as I
would have liked. The standard asks for firm loins and short
couplings which of course complements the short but light body asked
for. Movement was somewhat mixed overall and as a judge it is always
disappointing to see the pleasing exhibit standing in profile, unable to
back it up when asked to move. Nevertheless our breed has the stock to
progress and with careful planning has a good future. Finally, I would
also like to thank my two efficient stewards, Jill Pollard and Sue
Lewis.
Minor Puppy Dog.
1st. Butterworth's Augustus Rolo.
B.P.I.S.
Although appearing at his first show this
youngster of medium size shows promise. Once his education in
ringcraft has been improved upon we shall see what the future holds.
Head and Skull proportions were good and he pleased with his dark eye
and well placed erect ears. Took time to settle but eventually
produced reasonable movement with good stride.
Junior Dog.
1st. Sandeman's Loki the Loyal
Scored in head with nice breadth of skull,
moderate stop and good wedge shape. Strong in body with nice
topline and tailset. Erratic on the move and in his underclothes,
but enjoyed his day. Moved better in later class.
Special Yearlng dog.
1st. Penzer's Trelowen Dregyn
Compact and well balanced on the move, this lad
was a little too strong in head for me and I would have preferred a
darker eye. He scored in neck, topline and tailset and moved
straight fore and aft with good drive from the rear.
2nd. Sandeman's Loki the Loyal
Post Graduate Dog.
1st . Blight's Rosechow Patrick
Pleased in head with good wedge shape,
expressive eye and well placed ears. In full coat which was shedding and
whilst compact and short, he could have been a bit lighter in body in
relation to length of leg. Moved out quite well, showing
level topline and good tailset.
Limit Dog
1st. Solomon's Trelowen
Touryk.
Definitely one for the future, this 2½yrs
old dog was presented in nice coat and condition,is well balanced, has
nice lines and moves out straight fore and aft with good hind action.
Good head and skull proportions and scored in neck and body. I had
a good look at him for the DRCC and will watch his progress with
interest.
2nd. Deacon, Deacon and Cobb's. Knytshall
Morsom.
Laid back character who pleased in head and
expression with strong hindquarters shown to good advantage on the move.
Unfortunately he was a little weak on front pasterns and being longer
cast than 1 he was not so firm in loin.
3rd Jacques Trelowen
Mynrew.
Scored in head and skull with good width between ears and nice wedge,
dark eye and well placed ears. Shown in good coat and
condition but not moving too well at the rear.
4th Beaton's Trelowen
Sendal
Cheery character who moved out quite well
front and rear. Short and compact, nice head and tail set
and showing a level topline on the move. A little short on leg
for me.
5th Frost & Treadwell's Frostisen
Rhett Butler.
Not a happy lad today and did not show himself
off to advantage. Just coming into coat and all over the
place on the move. Hope to see him on a better day in the
future.
Open Dog
1st Frost's Ir.Ch.
Frostisen Quadroon. Dog
CC & B.I.S.
Quality exhibit just coming into his own and
looking a winner to me as soon as I saw him. Scored in head, body and
coat. Handled and put down so well. Just the right size
and was balanced form all angles, moving straight and true, covering
the ground effortlessly with no weakness at front or rear and showing
neat feet and correct tuck up. Should go far.
2nd Denham-Horton's
Ch. Olpenden D'Zimba. dog
rCC
Another quality exhibit who pleased in head,
dark expressive eye and well placed and erect ears. Not as good
in front as 1, but looks outstanding in profile, with good tailset,
neat feet and presented in nice coat and condition. Not as
positive on the move as 1, and had to give way on this occasion.
3rd Deuchar's Ch.
Fullani Flekkefjord.
Presented in good coat and condition with head and skull of good
proportion, dark eye and well used ears. Strong and short in
body, firm loin and nice set on. A little lazy on the move but
covered the ground adequately.
4th Vine's Ch.
Trelowen Canmel.
Not overshadowed by previous three dogs and
completing a quality line up. Still putting all in and scored in
head and good breadth between ears and correct muzzle and stop.
Moved out nicely showing good tailset and neat feet.
Veteran Dog
1st Vine's Ch.
Trelowen Jaudyn.
Shown in cracking coat and condition with
head, eyes, ears and topline all plus points. Not out of place
in CC lineup and moved soundly to take the class, holding a nice
topline and giving everyone a chance to see his quality.
2nd Deuchar's Ch.
Wolfen Just In Time.
Another quality champion who is showing his
worth with pleasing offspring in the ring today. Good head
proportions, nice skull shape and well placed ears. Moved out
with nice lines and strong rear end.
3rd Jacques Trelowen
Mynfrew
Special Vintage Dog
1st Purves' Bulabs
Sonneret
What a smooth character, laid back but moving
so well and at 12 years old thoroughly enjoying his day.
Scored in head with nice eye, well used ears and steady
topline.Attentive at all times and presented in excellent condition.
Junior Bitch
1st Sercombe's Uniquely
Ulla at Trelowen.
Pretty and feminine with nicely shaped head of good proportion, dark
expressive eye and well placed ears. A little loose in
front and weak in pastern. Could be shorter coupled,
nevertheless moved out quite well from the rear.
Special Yearling Bitch
1st Jacques' Trelowen
Favera.
Attractive young lady who asks for attention.
Lean and nicely shaped head with dark eye and moderate stop.
Sharply pointed and well used ears, light body and nice tailset.
A little loose in front but moved out well to take the class.
2nd Sercombe's Ichmoran
Zanta at Trelowen.
Longer cast than 1 and down on pasterns at front. Scored in
head, eye and ears with nice wedge and a strong jaw. Moved out
well from rear.
3rd Purves, Purves & Hearson's
Jumasue Wind Dancer.
Not a happy showgirl who kept dropping her
tail but showed enough to score in head and body shape with a nice eye
and expression. Hope she gains more confidence.
Post-Graduate Bitch
1st McLaren & Denham-Horton's Ichmoran
Azizi to Olpenden.
Pretty as a picture, medium size and showing
nice lines in profile. Pleased in head shape with correct stop
and muzzle length, strong in jaw and with good dentition.
Presented in lovely coat and moved adequately though a little weak in
pastern and slack in toe at front.
2nd Blight's Rosechow
River Dancer.
Close up to 1 with nice head shape, good wedge
and well placed mobile ears. Steady topline and good set on were
emphasised on the move. Whilst compact and strong I would have
preferred a somewhat lighter body.
3rd Jacques' Trelowen
Favera
4th Meadows' Shamead
Black Liberator Best black.
Pleasant character who went about her business in a workmanlike way.
Nice head shape, erect ears, deep chest and compact body with nice
tail set. Hind movement let her down.
5th Frost's Frostisen
Stranger Stacey. Best Puppy bitch.
A little too strong in bone and body for me
and not helping her handler on the move. Head shape, eye and
ears were plus points. She has time on her side to settle into
herself.
Limit Bitch
1st Sercombe's Trelowen
Aquilla. Bitch
r.C.C. Quality exhibit who
was well balanced and shown in good coat and condition. Good
breadth of head and skull, nice wedge and medium muzzle and pleased in
eye, ears and neck. Well made in body with good rib, tuck-up and
short coupled. Tail well set on and moved out well.
2nd Mayer's Trelowen
Sylva Redneck to Tapui.
Could push 1 hard on another day. Attractive
and medium sized, she is nicely balanced all over and free from
exaggeration. Unfortunately she was in her underclothes and fresh from
maternal duties, but her quality is there for all to see.
Pleased in head, eye, neck, topline and tailset. Moved out well fore
and aft.
3rd Stonton's Noorabli
Classic Sola at Chayandi.
Another nice specimen and a little more of her
than 2. Nice head shape, kind eye and well placed ears were plus
points. Showed nice lines on the move and was not out of place in this
line-up. She has plenty of time on her side.
4th Purves' Bulabs
Polly Anne. Compact and of nice
size with a deep chest and short couplings. Nice head shape,
strong jaws and good dentition. Not too happy and hind movement
let her down.
5th Deacon, Deacon & Cobb's Dewin
Gwenifer at Knytshall.
More substantially made than 1-4 with nice
head shape, though lightish eye detracted somewhat. Presented in good
coat and condition and though a little laid back moved out adequately
once settle.
6th Blight's Rosechow Molly
Malone at Rikarlo.
Lovely character with pleasing head and
expression. Short and compact but heavy in body and down on
front pasterns. Scored in topline and tailset.
Open Bitch
1st Purves, Purves & Hearson's Ch.
Rikarlo Skylark from Jumasue
Bitch C.C.,
res. B.i.S
Quality all round, balanced and compact she
showed herself off for all to see. Presented in nice coat and
condition, she scored in head shape and proportions, dark eye and just
the right length of neck. Deep chest, good rib and short
coupled, she displayed nice lines whilst moving soundly fore and aft.
2nd Sercombe's Trelowen
Gin'N Tonic.
Pretty and feminine and of medium size, she
pleased with her dark expressive eye, good wedge shaped head and
general outline. Compact and nicely made with a good rear end, she
covered the ground well on the move. Quality exhibit.
3rd Coleopy's Ch.
Skadsemgaardens Freia Priskills at Fullani.
Different type to 1 and 2 and more of her.
Presented in lovely coat and condition and scored in head shape, eye
and ears with deep chest, level topline and good set on with double
curl. Not so light and positive on the move as I would have liked but
completed a quality first three.
4th Frost's Frostisen
Ruby Red.
Not happy and not helping her handler at
first. Once settled she showed a nice outline, dark eye,
straight front and strong hindquarters. Somewhat erratic on the move.
5th Meadows' Shamead
Black Liberator
Veteran Bitch
1st Wallbank's Ch
Dewin Ffion. Best Veteran bitch.
Nice to see this lady in the ring once again,
looking in excellent nick and showing all the qualities that took her
to her title. When standing she showed plenty in front and scored with
her head shape, topline and size. Moved out well.
Vintage Bitch
1st Deacon, Deacon and Cobb's Knytshall

Sprightly 11 yr old looking in good shape and
nicely presented and handle. Pleased in head and eye and moved
